Cookson Hills Corsos are exclusively AKC/ICCF Registered Cane Corsos from Scandifio & Grand Champion bloodlines to pass on the best genetic and temperament traits for family and farm guard dogs. We are a Canine Care and USDA certified kennel. Puppies come with a multi-generation pedigree and registration packet, tails & dew claws removed, microchip, and current with preventative care. We'll give you the scoop on large breed diet and exercise and information on training techniques.
The Breed
The breed name Cane Corso translated from Italian means bodyguard dog. They are Italian Mastiffs first loved by ancient Romans as professional bodyguards at home and war. Their demeanor is what you'd expect from the name, a physically intimidating dog that will develop strong bonds with family members and have a strong drive to protect and please, ideal for lifelong companions and home intrusion prevention. Cane Corso are highly intelligent and trainable, eager to please and perform working class duties. They require a disciplined training routine, exercise, and attention from their family. They are gentle with children and disciplined in public with the right training.
